Disabled Women/Motherhood

Through my involvement in the Economic and Social Research Council Partnership Research Conference/Workshops starting in 2005, I worked closely with people with learning difficulties, and learned about the barriers they faced (specifically in the areas of health, reproduction and parenthood) and the discrimination they encountered on a daily basis.

Following this and other work I have carried out on disabled women’s multiple identities, I am interested in assessing barriers to disabled women’s sexuality and possibilities of motherhood, and am actively looking for opportunities in this area.
